Paulownia Products
Paulownia wood
has many exceptional properties allowing it to be used in many varied
applications and it offers numerous advantages over other wood.
It is light
and extremely strong, which makes it preferable, when this correlation is
important. The low weight, elasticity and a modulus of rupture provides it with distinct advantages in certain applications.
The
high ratio of strength/weight makes Paulownia wood irreplaceable in
construction, shipbuilding, aviation, furniture, kitchen cabinets, surfboards, musical instruments, motorhomes, caravans etc....
A major feature of Paulownia wood is its
ease of working. All aspects of carpentry such as machining, nailing, screwing,
gluing, sanding, sawing and handling are very user friendly with no splinters,
cracking or splitting and excellent take-up of glue and finishes.
Paulownia
is highly resistant to attacks from termites insects, pests and rot, it is
therefore ideally suited to be used in environments where these are a problem.
Paulownia Products
All our Paulownia timber is obtained from Paulownia trees planted specifically to produce sustainable Paulownia timber.
Paulownia trees cut down for making timber will grow back multiple times before having to be replanted. Whilst growing, Paulownia trees capture up to 10 times the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) to other trees.
The high levels of CO2 captured by the Paulownia tree will remain captured in the products made from Paulownia timber and therefore these products will make a positive contribution in reversing climate change.
Paulownia Timber invests in sustainable paulownia timber plantations to generate profitable returns on green investments which help protect the environment.
